What is Aluminum Foil Coated Fabric used for?

Posted by Admin
Aluminum foil coated fabric is a composite glass fiber cloth with aluminum foil on the surface to meet customers' special requirements. It has the advantages of smooth and flat surface, high tensile strength, airtightness, watertightness, sealing performance, strong weather-ability, etc.

It is widely used as heat insulation material for air conditioning and HVAC equipment pipes, rock wool coverings for building sound insulation materials, and insulating fabric for export equipment to protect it from moisture, fog, fire and corrosion. It is also an effective protective material for metallurgy, boilers, and foundries.

The product is made of a special base fiberglass cloth, coated with an aluminum foil, and then bonded to the fiber glass fabric. It has good abrasion resistance, moisture resistance, and flame retardant.

One side is coated with 1 mil (.001") thickness aluminum foil and reflects more than 95% of the radiant heat that contacts its surface. The radiant barrier is the perfect protection for covering equipment that is in close proximity to intense radiant sources such as super-hot metal slabs, liquid or molten metals, open flame / plasma or engine exhaust manifolds.

This aluminum foil coated fabric can withstand long term continuous operation up to 300degF / 149degC and short duration exposure up to 550degC. The thermal reflective properties of the aluminum coating help prevent wear and tear in various applications. It can be used in cars, motorbikes, ovens, boilers, foundries and steel works.
